Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board proposes to grant an exception as provided by Section 5.3.2 of its Policy for Implementation of Toxic Standards and an exception as provided by Section III.J.1 of its California Ocean Plan for discharges resulting from mandatory system-development and system-maintenance activities conducted to fulfill statutory requirements under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act of the California Health and Safety Code. The exceptions are for discharges from existing drinking water systems that have been occurring and will continue to occur, and for discharges of new future drinking water systems that result in the same type of discharge. The exception applies to mandated drinking water systems discharges into all waters of the U.S. statewide. The exceptions are not to Total Maximum Daily Loads of either state or federal regulations.
