Document Description
CDFW has executed lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0077-R6, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Coachella Valley Water District. The project is limited to the construction of 18 miles of underground pipelines, three reservoirs, four pump stations; the installation of water meters within concrete vaults; and the upgrade of an existing Imperial Irrigation District (IID) electrical circuit to provide power to the pump stations. The aforementioned construction activities will require the installation of pipelines through six streambed areas. The purpose of the project is to substitute the groundwater currently used for agricultural irrigation in the Oasis area with CVWD canal water in order to allow recovery of the underlying aquifer.
