Document Description
The goal of this project is the reduction of hazardous fuels with a 300 foot wide shaded fuel break to separate two subdivisions, Woodridge Lake Estates and Shasta Forest Village, from the larger undeveloped wildland areas. Treatment will be performed by Cal Fire inmate hand crews using hand tools and chain saws in maintenance and development of a Defensible Fuel Profile Zone. The treatment area will be approximately 300-ft wide by 4 miles in length (approximately 150 acres). The vegetation consist of oak woodland, dense schrubs and mixed oak/conifer stands. Project work will involve utilizing chainsaws & hand tools to remove brush and dead ground fuels.
