Document Description
This project involves the hand clearing of brush, small trees less than 6 inch in diameter and dead woody debris (snags less than 11 inch in diameter) within the right of way of Skyway road. The project will be carried out of both sides to the roadway southward from Crossover road at the southwest of Paradise, California, to a point in the vicinity of the Tuscan Ridge Golf course. The project will be 4 miles long and encompass and approximate 30 acres. The purpose of this project is to reduce fuel loads and fire hazard, improve conditions along the Skyway when used as an "Escape Route" during wild land fires of a watershed scale, and provide scale, and provide better opportunity to contain or suppress the spread of north wind fires historic to this project area.
