Document Description
CDCR is going to upgrade CMC's West facility standby generator system. The existing system has limited distribution and does not meet current departmental requirements. This project includes the installation of a new standby generator system, above-ground fuel tank, transfer switch, related electrical switchgear. The project also includes a pre-engineered metal building to house the generator, electrical panels, switchgear, and automatic transfer switch. Upgrading the generator system is necessary to provide the standby and emergency power required to maintain normal operation of the CMC West facility during power outages, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the facility to meet CDCR's mission of public safety. All work is in a developed and disturbed area of the prison property.
