Document Description
The project is limited to replacing a section of the existing Line 101 gas pipeline and upgrading the Lomita Park Regulator Station (station) equipment that regulates pressure along the pipeline. The new pipeline segment shall be approximately 3,200-foot long. The pipeline shall be installed using horizontal directional drilling (HDD). Approximately 0.02 acres of arroyo willow (Salix lasiolepis) will be removed to facilitate an above ground tracking wire for the HDD drilling process. The HDD will occur at a depth ranging from approximately 40 to 60 feet beneath jurisdictional water features. The station will be expanded by a total of approximately 3,750 square feet. Prior to construction at the station, a temporary exclusion fence will be installed around the existing station. The exclustion fence will encompass an approximately 119,300-square foot area. The area will be used for storing spoils, staging construction equipment and two excavations pits for sniff holes. Installing 24-inch diameter pipe using HDD methodology will cross under seasonal wetlands and the South Lomita Canal Establishing the temporary work areas around the pipeline tie-in will impact seasonal wetland, and removing approximately 0.02 acres of arroyo willow (Salix laiolepis) for HDD tracking wire access will also impact water bodies. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2013-0087-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Robert Stiving, Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
