Document Description
North Valley Building Systems, Inc. has applied for a conditional use permit for a walnut huller/dryer facility. The project consists of a 19,600 sf walnut huller/dryer building with the future addition of a caretaker's residence and a 14,000 sf dryer building. The site consists of rice fields that are to be converted to walnut orchards. The hulling/drying process will be seasonal requiring about six employees to operate the facility, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the walnut harvest period (Sept-Nov). Product will leave the site in-shell and in bulk, no packaging will occur, and no retail sales or customers are proposed.
