Public Road / A (Exclusive Agriculture) District / Arterial-Major Highway
The Kern County Roads Department in cooperation with Caltrans proposes to construct 6-foot paved shoulders with 2 feet of shoulder backing on both sides of the Midway Road, between SR 119 and SR 33. Existing pipe culverts will be extended on each side of the road, and one existing box culvert will be replaced. Slopes will be protected with rip-rap and built up or cut, as needed, to accommodate construction. The purpose of the project is to improve air quality and the safety of the traveling public. All proposed work will be within the existing road rights-of-way.
