The Ansel Adams Gallery buildings have maintained commercial and residential uses since the mid-1920s. After over 90 years of continuous operation and occupation, the Gallery buildings are in need of major repair and rehabilitation. The objectives of the rehabilitation plan are to: correct building structural deficiencies, and improve their stability and longevity; improve accessibility and fire/life safety; protect and preserve cultural and historic integrity and character; improve envelope weather-proofing and thermal performance; improve site access, circulation and drainage; and replace aging and failing building and underground site utility systems.
