The proposed project is the installation of a 3.8 mile segment of the Santa Ana River Trail (SART) in San Bernardino County on the south side of the Santa Ana River channel, between Waterman Avenue in the City of San Bernardino and California Avenue in the City of Redlands. The project is called the SART Phase III Project and it will extend the Santa Ana River Trail (a regional pedestrian and bicycle trail that is proposed to extend from the Pacific Ocean to the San Bernardino Mountains) through the City of San Bernardino to the City of Redlands. The federal Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration is the lead agency for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. FHWA has delegated NEPA compliance to Caltrans. The San Bernardino County, Department of Public Works is the lead agency for compliance with CEQA.
