The purpose of this project is to repair, and return continuity to, the existing trail alignment. Due to the large diameter and ecological and aesthetic value of the tree, the trail section reroute will be established to follow alongside the fallen tree. The realignment will require the removal of two redwood logs, three feet in diameter by ten feet in length, and one damaged bay laurel.
