Dust Control Treatment Pilot Project
NOE - Notice of Exemption
This project will develop a pilot treatment and testing program for various dust control treatments and measure their effectiveness. Various treatments will be applied on selected park roads, trails, and parking areas. All spraying will be contained within the roadbeds of existing roads and trails and overspray prevented by directional spray guides on the equipment. Washes and road or trail crossings of washes will not be treated. Testing will be conducted with a tow-behind air monitor and temporary air quality stations. Temporary air quality monitoring stations will be used at 11 sites and be fenced with above ground security fencing within a 14 foot x 14 foot area. Hay bales and additional speed limit signs will be installed at specific sites. A sea container, high water tank, and equipment will be placed within the maintenance facility at the Toner site. The project duration will be approximately 3 years.
No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with Section 15300.2. There will be negligible or no expansion of existing use. Project will not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. (Class 6)
