The Project consists of preserving and enhancing the function of Long Meadow by installing plug structures, creating ponds, creating a valley grade control structure, re-vegetating impacted areas, and constructing temporary fencing at the lower end of the meadow. The Project will stop further head-cutting by Long Meadow Creek and restore groundwater hydrology in the meadow.

The Central Valley Water Board has reviewewd the project and determined that it meets the Categorical Exemption under 14 CCR §15333, which includes projects, not to exceed five acres in size, to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of habitat for fish, plants, or wildlife, provided that there would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare, or threatened species or their habitat, there are no hazardous materials at or around the project site that may be disturbed or removed, and the project will not result in impacts that are not significant when viewed in connection with effects of past, projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
