Cities of Modesto filed a wastewater change petition seeking to eliminate its current treated wastewater discharged from the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant to the San Joaquin River. The treated wastewater will be transferred through the Delta Mendota Canal for irrigation use in 43,529 acres within Del Puerto Water District's service area and for fish and wildlife enhancement in 124,897 acres of Central Valley Project Improvement Act Designated Refuges in addition to its existing use at 2,500 acres of Modesto Ranch Lands.
