The County of San Bernardino Solid Waste Management Division (SWMD) is proposing to laterally expand the permitted refuse footprint of the existing 44-acre LSL to approximately 92 acres (adding 48 acres). In addition, the expansion of the permitted refuse footprint, based on the proposed engineering design, would increase the total landfill capacity by approximately 10.9 million cubic yards (cy), which would allow disposal at the landfill to continue until approximately 2072.
