Document Description
Project is part of watershed-wide approach to reduce sedimentation by preventing deliver through erosion control methods and capturing sediment through restoration of historic floodplain areas. Because of steep terrain, erosive soils, poor road design, and flashy rain events, many roads throughout the Chorro Creek watershed are now failing, delivering significant sources of sediment to nearby streams. The proposed project builds on ongoing efforts to implement cost-effective erosion control and erosion prevention work on roads identified as the largest contributors of sediment to fish-bearing streams. Road treatments are site-specific but all treatments are intended to make roads more resilient to large storms and flood flows by addressing sediment delivery at the source.
