Document Description
The project is limited to the replacement of an existing 96-foot long by 20-foot wide bridge with a 100-foot long by 25-foot wide bridge. The new bridge will be a single span concrete-reinforced box girder bridge. The bridge will be supported by reinforced concrete diaphragm type abutments founded on cast-in-drilled-hole concrete piling. The existing roadway approaches to the bridge between 14 to 22 feet in width. The roadway approach on both sides of the bridge will be widened to approximately 25 feet wide. On the south side of the bridge footprint, a retaining wall will be constructed up to 50 feet in length with 12 to 16 feet of exposed vertical height. The retaining wall will be a standard soldier pile wall with a minimum of 18-inch diameter cast-in-drilled-hole concrete piling. On the north side of the bridge footprint, a retaining wall with approximately the same description as that to be installed on the north side will be constructed. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2014-0162-R3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Todd Sexauer, Santa Cruz County Department of Public Works.
