Document Description
CDCR is proposing upgrades of the existing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system at Ironwood State Prison, which is aging and currently requires continuous maintenance. The existing evaporative cooling unit would be replaced with a site-wide chilled water system for air conditioning. New facilities would include a central chilled water plant and thermal energy storage tank, as well as a separate electrical substation and associated power line that would be constructed by Southern CA Edison. Up to three additional employees would be hired for operation and maintenance of the facilities.
