Document Description
The proposed project seeks the in-kind reconstruction of the collapsed Campbell Barn at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park's Vallecito Ranch acquisition. The project will preserve and incorporate surviving historic materials, and the reconstruction will be based on an accurate duplication of historic features using documentary and physical evidence. The reconstruction will re-create the appearance of the historic structure in materials and design. The District's Park Maintenance staff, Associate State Archaeologist, and pre-selected volunteers will assist the Project Manager to clear historic barn materials from the construction site. The materials will be recorded in place, mapped, and catalogued to determine if any can be salvaged for use in the reconstruction.
