2014 Emergency Dust Control Project
NOE - Notice of Exemption
The OHMVR Division is deploying dust control on approximately 45 acres of open sand areas at Oceano Dunes SVRA and undertaking associated monitoring activities. These actions are needed to obtain critical information that will inform development and implementation of a Particulate Matter Reduction Plan, reduce the number of days that exceed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 24-hour average National Ambient Air Quality Standard for inhalable coarse particulate matter (PM10) at the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District's CDF ambient air monitoring station, and prevent and mitigate drought-related dust conditions.
The project meets the requirements for a complete exemption from CEQA under the emergency project provision.
