Document Description
The applicant is applying for grant funds through the Land Water Conservation Funds to expand recreational opportunities in Mueller Park, Reedley, California. The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 1530 LF x 6 ft. of concrete for walking path that will encircle the park. Twelve new lighting fixtures, 6 concrete picnic tables, 4 mounted BBQ grills and 3 benches will be placed throughout the park close to the walking trial. The existing landscape will be enhanced with additional trees and shrubs in various parts close to the trail. To further expand recreational opportunities necessary renovations are planned for a below grade sandbox (200 sq. ft.), shade structure canopy, and the unsafe play equipment will be removed and replaced with equipment meeting current safety standards. The restroom structure will stay intact but the items on the side will be removed and replaced for a fully functioning public facility.

Section 15303, exempts from the provisions of CEQA projects characterized as consisting of construction a store, motel office or restaurant. In the urban area the exemption applies to up to four commercial structures. Section 15332, exempts from the provisions of CEQA projects characterized when the project is consistent with the General Plan; the project occurs within the city limits on a site less than five acres; there are no habitat for endangered species, the project would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality and or water quality; and the site can be adequately served by all required utilities and public services.
