- Protect park resources, botanists will survey Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve for populations of Chorizanthe orcuttiana (spineflower) and Dudieya brevifolia (dudleya). In the Extension the rare plant populations will be protected by approximately 2,900 feet of fencing, weeding, signage and public outreach. New experimental populations will be attempted in several locations. Additional work in the main reserve may be requried once new popoulations or sites for experimental populations are discovered.
