Document Description
The Project consists of repairing an erosion site through the installation of a ScourStop TM channel, placing vegetated mechanically stabilized earth (VMSE), and constructing a longitudinal stone toe. Placement of the VMSE would restore the slope of the bank, as well as help retain soil placed as part of the project. The longitudinal stone toe would retard erosion from fluvial forces, boat wake, and discharged flows for the ScourStop channel. These repairs would address the existing erosion problems, enhance fish habitat values, and prevent future erosion from encroaching on the levee, the levee maintenance road, the adjacent recreation features. The State Lands Commission action is an approval of a 20-year General Lease - Public Agency Use through October 13, 2034, for use of lands in the Sacramento River for the longitudinal stone toe and other erosion repairs.
