The project consists of acquiring rights to allow for the direct diversion and diversion to storage with subsequent rediversion for use of up to 40,000 acre-feet/year (afy) from the Middle Fork American River and the south Fork American River. The project would partially assign State filed water rights for in-County beneficial use supporting water supply to meet anticipated future demand and the enhance drought period reliability. EDWPA is preparing an EIR to address potentially significant environmental issues that could result from the Project.
