- Document Description
- Note: FED Amendments to the Regulation to Reduce Emissions of Diesel Particulate Matter, Oxides of Nitrogens and Other Criteria Pollutants from In-Use Heavy-Duty Fueled Vehicles (Truck and Bus regulation) would provide new flexibilities that are reasonable & consistent with a rebalanced compliance approach for fleets still suffering from economic recession impacts, while focusing on 3 objectives: (1) protecting emission reductions by providing lower cost compliance options to small fleets, low mileage fleets, & certain rural fleets; (2) providing new opportunities for fleets to access public incentive funds; and (3) recognizing fleets that made early investments to comply. Amendments do not result in any increase in emissions compared to existing environmental conditions and would continue to meet the goals established when regulation was initially adopted.
