- Document Description
- The proposed project, located at 5340 Canoga Avenue on the northeast corner of Canoga Avenue and Costanso Street in the Woodland Hills community of the City of Los Angeles, would involve the construction of a 0.35-acre neighborhood pocket park that would serve neighborhoods within walking distance. The proposed project is the 26th project of the City's 50 Park Initiative to create fifty new pockets parks. All of the structures on the site would be demolished, and the design of the new pocket park would take its cues from the former fire station and its fire-fighting purpose. Park amenities would include a fire station themed play area intended for 5 to 12 year olds, a fitness zone with equipment, a gaming/Wi-Fi zone, turf areas, picnic tables, benches, and shade structures. Landscaping would be native trees and shrubbery and a smart irrigation system. Hardscapes would include concrete and brick walkways. Security fencing would be installed along the perimeter of the entire site, along with security lighting and cameras, and would comply with the requirements o the Americans with Disabilities Act.
