Document Description
Create shaded fuel breaks at two sites in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone as designated by CalFire and in accordance with the Humboldt-Del Norte Operational Unit's Fire Management Plan: one located between Brannan Mountain Rd. and State Route 96 adjacent to the rear of the medical clinic and Trinity Valley School properties, and one located approximately one-half mile south of this location in the downtown area of Willow Creek (south of SR 299). This project will reduce the risk of fire danger in the area by decreasing fuel load and fire intensity of a future uncontrolled fire in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) area of the State Responsibility Area in the community, provide safe ingress and egress for residents and emergency response personnel, and protect timber and watershed resources.
