Document Description
The Santa Barbara campus proposes to provide fire and life safety system upgrades and renovate the Anacapa residence hall. Santa Cruz Hall, built in 1959, is composed of two 2-story wings connected by a central common area. Santa Cruz Hall provides 517 beds in 216 residential units. This project will retrofit the wings and common area spaces with a fire sprinkler system; replace the fire alarm system; replace windows; upgrade lighting; and refurbish interior of the entire residence hall. In total, the project encompasses 52,000 ASF (79,079 GSF). All improvements are interior and the project does not include building expansion. The project does not propose an increase in occupancy. The project is targeting LEED Gold certification.
