Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board (Board) is a lead agency for this project. The Board's Safe Drinking Water Proposition 84 Program is providing state funds for the project. Due to Lassen Pines Mutual Water Company(LPMWC) groundwater being under the direct influence of surface water, LPMWC initially proposed a project that included the installation of one groundwater well with appurtenant structures. However, LPMWC was unsuccessful in developing an adequate groundwater source and have now proposed the installation of multi-barrier surface water treatment. LPMWC proposes to provide disinfection and filtration of the water provided by the wells in a phased approach. The remaining P84 funds will be used to install an approved UV disinfection system in order to achieve compliance and project public health. The Cleanup and Abatement Account Interim Emergency Drinking Water funding program will be funding the Phase 2 construciton of a filtration system which will result in completion of the multi-barrier surface water treatment plant.
