Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of three boardwalk crossings to replace current at-grade crossings, which are contributing sediment to Islais Creek. All boardwalks will be constructed of lumber in areas where the wood would not be in contact with the water and Alaskan cedar or Alaskan cedar glulam for the headwalls and areas where wood may contact the water. The lengths of the crossings are estimated to be approximately 17-20 feet long, and three to five feet wide. Headwalls will be installed on either end of the boardwalk above mean high water and backfilled with one- to four-inch rock to provide subsurface drainage. Construction of each boardwalk will also require installation of two mid-span supports 15 inches in diameter placed 58 inches deep into the creek bed. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2012-0426-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
