The project consists of the installation of seven interpretive sign panels along the Mammoth Trail System. The interpretive panels are to be placed along the existing bike paths to provide insightful information regarding locations or history/geography of the Town. These signs have been proven to improve/enhance the visitors' experience and for visitors to develop a sense of ownership to invest into the Town.
The new construction of interpretive panels are categorically exempt under New Construction or Conversion of Existing Structures 15303 (e). Construction will occur within the shoulder of pre-existing pedestrian trails and minimally affect the area other than the footing location of the signs final placement; therefore, these follow the criteria of "construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures."
