Consistent with Governor Brown's emergency Drought Proclamation, Western Canal Water District proposes idling up to 10,740 acres of rice land to make available up to 35,442 acre-feet of water for transfer to buyers or buyers located south of the Bay Delta. If Western Canal Water District's water supplies are curtailed in 2014, it will not participate in a transfer.
