Document Description
The proposed Project is the cleanup of the Cummings Road Burn Ash Site, in compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and orders, and the restoration of stream channels currently containing burn ash debris. The design plans and specifications for the project are presented in the Corrective Action Plan for the Clean Closure of the Cummings Road Burn Ash Site prepared by Lawrence and Associates. The Cummings Road Burn Ash Site extends over 6.1 acres. The Project Area encompasses 23.1 acres and includes the horizontal and vertical extent of all project activities that would result in ground disturbance. Stockpile and staging areas, the Cummings Road Landfill disposal area, haul roads and trails make up the remaining 17 acres. For the entire Project area, approximately 60,000 cubic yards of debris and adjacent soil would be removed from the Site and disposed within the lined portions of the Landfill. After excavation of the waste material and confirmation sampling to document the "clean closure" of the area, the habitat would be restored, and a five year post-closure monitoring and maintenance program would begin.
