Document Description
The project involves the removal of sand/sediment, vegetation overgrowth, and eradication of Arundo donax from critical portions of Fresno River, Ash Slough, Berenda Slough and Chowchilla River. All proposed work activities will comply with the existing Streambed Alteration Agreement issued by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Heavy Arundo infestation along with vegetation overgrowth block flows and caused flood hazards to nearby land, as well as create fire hazards, habitat deterioration and excessive evapotranspiration of water that could otherwise be used to recharge the overdrafted groundwater.
