Document Description
This project involves drilling of three water wells, pump installation, and placing portable storage tanks within disturbed areas near Highway 20 within the Jackson Demonstration State Forest (JDSF). The first area is located near the junction of JDSF Road 77 and Highway 20. This area was part of a 2008 timber sale harvested in 2011. This area is located south of Highway 20 at approximately the 11.4 mile marker on a ridge top within redwood forest habitat. The proposed location of the well and storage tanks is on or near JDSF Road 77. The second area is located on a ridge top near the junction of JDSF Roads 359 and 350, which is adjacent Highway 20 at mile marker 5.9. There is an existing 10,000-gallon concrete storage tank at this location. The proposed well location is adjacent Road 359 near the storage tank. The third area is adjacent JDSF Road 300 near the junction with Road 305. The water will be used for fire suppression and road maintenance on JDSF.
