Document Description
Project involves the eradication of invasive species, including cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) and red brome (Bromus rubens) on three 25 acre parcels at the Antelope Valley CA Poppy Natural Reserve. The following three techniques will be used to reduce non-native annual grasses. 1) Goat grazing: an experimental plot on the west side of the Reserve (approximately 25 acres) will be grazed by goats. 2) Sheep grazing: an experimental plot on the west side of the Reserve (approximately 25 acres) will be grazed by sheep. 3) Herbicide control: an experimental plot on the west side of the Reserve (approximately 25 acres) will receive an application of grass-specific herbicide Fusilade DX.
