Remove non-historic trees and vegetation from around six historic fruit and nut trees in North Bloomfield at Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park to protect and avoid the loss of the historic fruit and nut trees due to lack of sunlight. Work will: Cut down non-historic trees with chainsaws; cut downed trees into rounds; use rounds for firewood; chip slash and remove from site. Remove grass and brush with loppers and weed whackers.
Minor alteration in the condition of land and vegetation that does not involve the removal of healthy, mature scenic trees except for forestry purposes and is included as "resource management projects" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCS 15300.4.
