A legislatively mandated integrated pest management program aimed at controlling the spread of the aquatic invasive weed, spongeplant, that interferes with beneficial uses of Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta waterways. The program will operate in portions of Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Madera, Merced, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, and Yolo counties. Control methods include herbicide treatments, hand removal with nets, herding and mechanical harvesting.
