Document Description
SBCUSD proposes to construct and operate a new Community Day School facility for 2nd through 12th grade students, and will occupy a portion of the existing Center for Individual Development which is a regional recreation center that focuses on providing recreation programs for people with disabilities. The CDS Project would be developed in two phases. The first phase involves the installation of a total of sixteen modular buildings, including classrooms, administrative facilities, and boys and girls toilets. The second phase involves the modernization of two existing buildings located on the Site. The total proposed student enrollment for the CDS would be a maximum of 250 students, and there would be approximately 25 staff. The proposed CDS would serve students within the existing District boundaries. The first phase of the project is anticipated to begin in early April 2014, and would be completed in early August 2014. The school would be planned to open in September 2014. The modernization of the North Norton Park building would be completed in late January 2015, and the CID building modernization would be completed in October 2015.
