The project would build and operate a one-acre photovoltaic pillar-mounted solar array of about 228 kW A/C capacity on one acre in a 4.7-acre parcel owned by the Palm Springs Unified School District next to the southern boundary of the Two Bunch Palms Elementary School campus. Most of the electricity generated would be used by the neighboring school; the project may sell some electricity to the regional electric grid.
