The Salton Sea Authority (SSA) has partnered with the Torres Martinez Tribe of Desert Cahuilla Indians (Tribe) to propose implementation of a habitat enhancement and creation and renewable energy pilot project on Reservation land. The proposed project is partially funded through grant money awarded to the SSA from the DWR, and by grant money awarded to the Tribe by the BIA, and USEPA, and through in-kind contributions in the form of infrastructure construction and operations (i.e., labor and materials).
