Document Description
Wickland Pipelines LLC (Wickland), headquartered in Sacramento, CA, requests approval of Encroachment Permit application, CPP #2013-00087, to construct an approximately 5-mile long 12-inch CA Public Utilities Commission regulated common carrier jet fuel pipeline connecting the John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA to an existing 16-inch products pipeline operated by Kinder Morgan Energy Partners (Kinder Morgan) located near the planned intersection of Tustin Ranch Road and Edinger Avenue in the City of Tustin. This project will provide airline companies (Airlines) operating at the Airport with an enhanced jet fuel storage and transportation system. The proposed John Wayne Airport New Jet Fuel Pipeline will increase airport-related jet fuel storage capabilities, while allowing Airlines to access jet fuel from all Long Beach area refineries and terminals without the need for highway truck transportation resulting in the elimination of 44 to 70 individual tanker truck trips per day. The proposed project includes two new on-site jet fuel storage tanks, as shown in Storage Tank Locations (Tank Farm) Exhibit in the MND. The two proposed tanks would each have a total shell capacity of 1,722,000 gallons (41,000 bbls) and a net operating capacity of 1,554,000 gallons (37,000 bbls).
