Document Description
The purpose of the Day Use Bioswale project is to construct a bioswale to collect, briefly detain, and filter runoff from the Day Use parking area at Hollister Hills SVRA. The Day Use parking area is a semi-permeable parking surface used by visitors as a staging area for their off-highway vehicles. Due to possible runoffs from the Day Use parking area, a bioswale would be a preferred feature to manage storm water runoff and to contain potential water contaminants. Currently the proposed project area drains to a vegetated area located between the Intermediate Kids Track and the Beginners Track. The swale drains an area of roughly one acre, making it an ideal setting for a bio-swale application. The bioswale will be treated as an interpretive opportunity and will feature native flora and panels explaining the purpose of the bioswale.
