Document Description
The project proposes an Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) for CalTech's Gold Camp Data Center facility. The measure will provide significant energy efficiency upgrade and cost savings to the facility. The HVAC related measure includes the installation of a new heat exchanger and major upgrade to three existing cooling towers.
The use of heat exchanger allow substantial free cooling when outside temperatures are below 60 degree thereby reducing the energy costs to provide cooling to the server banks throughout the data center.
