Document Description
A Renovation Study conducted at FSP identified multiple code compliance issues related to fire/life safety in Building Five. To correct these deficiencies, CDCR proposes two projects: 1) The installation of a fire suppression system in each of the 328 cells, overhead fire sprinklers in the remainder of the building, and a central reporting fire alarm and smoke detection system; 2) Replacement of the wooden staircase and walkway with a non-combustible structure that will meet current fire/life safety standards. A concrete walkway will be constructed with new rail supports.
