This activity involves ownership transfer of approximately 78.7 acres of land from the former Fort Ord to the State. State ownership will enable the State to apply for and be eligible for consideration of federal grant money to develop a veterans cemetery. This transfer of ownership does not obligate the State to proceed with a veterans cemetery development, and that any such decision would occur only after completion of environmental review required by law.
