Document Description
.This Project includes installation of ramp metering systems for 18 on-ramps/connectors along 1-680 in Alameda County. Four of these on-ramps/connectors will be widened using retaining walls to provide for High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes, additional mixed flow lanes and California Highway Patrol pullouts. New traffic operations systems (TOS) elements will also be installed including 13 closed circuit television systems, three changeable message signs and 50 one-directional traffic monitoring stations. Maintenance Vehicle Pullouts will also be constructed for access to TOS elements. The Project shall result in 17.63 acres of temporary impacts and 5.09 acres of permanent impacts. The project is expected to result in incidental take of the California tiger salamander and Alameda whipsnake aka Alameda striped racer, which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation. This Major Amendment includes an additional 0.02 acres of impacts to grassland and Covered Species Habitat over approximately 1,000 linear feet for a grading line to install exclusionary fencing
