Document Description
The purpose of the project is to explore practical and beneficial methods to remove approximately 250,000 to 500,000 cy of sediment from Prado Basin and re-entrain the sediment into the lower Santa Ana River, below Prado Dam to help restore sediment migration to habitats and beaches downstream and to help maintain water conservation storage behind Prado Dam. The project will be implemented over a five year period and involves the following three activities; 1) construction and operation of a sediment removal channel, 2) construction and operation of sediment storage and green waste processing area and 3) sediment re-entrainment activities. The sediment removal and processing activities will occur in the Prado Basin and sediment re-entrainment activities will occur downstream of Prado Dam.
