Document Description
The Housing Element is one of seven mandated elements of Temple City's General Plan. It establishes the framework to meet the housing needs of existing and future resident populations. CA State Government Code Section 65302 mandates that each local jurisdiction shall include a Housing Element in its General Plan and that the Housing Element be periodically updated for consistency with State and Federal housing laws. The City of Temple City 2014-2021 Housing Element covers a planning period from adoption to October 1, 2021. Components of the Housing Element include: a housing needs assessment with population and household characteristics; identification of constraints to providing housing; an inventory of available sites for the provision of housing for all economic segments of the community; and a statement of goals, quantified objectives, policies, and an implementation program for meeting the City's housing needs.
