Document Description
The purpose of the Housing Element is to provide suitable housing for all residents of Indio regardless of income, age, race, religion, gender or ethnic background. The Housing Element sets forth the City's 2014-2021 strategy to address the community's housing needs. It includes the preservation and improvements of the community's residential character, the expansion of housing opportunities for all economic segments of the community and the provision of guidance and direction for local government decision-making on all matters relating to housing. According to the SCAG RHNA forecast, the City will need to accommodate the development of 3,025 residential units during the 2014-2021 planning period.
